Elite Mare Candidate - Hanoverian Mare

2007 USEF Young Horse Central Selection Trials - Lamplight, IL

We are very proud of our Roccoca (we call her Cokie) who is out of our foundation mare. Her mother, Turteltaubchen, a lovely black premium imported Oldenburg mare was first place USDF All-Breeds award winner at Second Level and was competing at Fourth Level before retiring to breeding.  She was a wonderful mare and was a premium filly in Germany.   Her mare daughters so far presented are all either Elite Hanoverian or Premium Oldenburg mares.  Sadly, we lost "Teddy" in 2006, but have kept her daughters Tequila, EMC Roccoca and Attora for our breeding program.
Last year, Roccoca was Reserve Champion in The National Young Horse Championships for 4 year olds. She scored 8.6 for walk, 8.5 trot, 8.0 canter, 9 sumissiveness and 9.4 for general impression for a total of 8.7. The judges commented: "This is a lovely mare with lots of potential for dressage and who's been started in very much the right way...She has a clear, correct rhythm with good reach in all three gaits...an she's very, very much on the riders aids."
Cokie was Champion Hanoverian Mare and also Champion in Mare Performance Test at her inspections, earning her Elite Mare Candidate status. She also was awarded the Dr. Hartwig prize for Best North American bred young mare and also the Englo-Friedlander Award for the highest MPT score. She was also 4th in the USDF All-Breeds Awards at Training Level.  We could not ask for more in the mare's first year of showing.
In 2007, she continues to prove herself. She was Reserve Champion in the Regional USEF Young Horse Selection Trials at Lamplight, IL and again invited to the National Young Horse Championships in Kentucky where she was Reserve Champion 5 year old.  She finished the year as Champion Hanoverian in the USDF All-Breeds Awards at First Level and 6th place Horse of the Year.
